Privacy Policy
What we collect when you enquire or order, why we need it, and what we do with it.
Last updated: 9 September 2026
Sri Lakshmi Caterers (“we”, “us”) runs Sri Lakshmi Caterers from 113/17-1, Old Madras Road (Opp Karnataka Bank), Ulsoor, Bangalore 560008. This page explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what happens to it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than in the usual boilerplate — if anything here is unclear, please ask.
What we collect, and when
When you send an enquiry or a contact message
We collect your name, phone number, email address (if you give one) and whatever you write in the message, along with the event date, type and guest count on the booking form. We need these to reply to you and to quote for your event.
When you place an order in our shop
We collect your name, phone number, email address, delivery address and PIN code, the delivery date you choose, and any note you add for the kitchen. We keep a record of what you ordered so we can make it, deliver it, invoice it, and answer questions about it afterwards. Your phone number identifies your account — we do not require a password.
When you pay online
We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details. Payments are handled entirely by our payment provider on their own systems. What comes back to us is a payment reference, the amount and whether it succeeded. Nothing more reaches this website.
Automatically, as you browse
Our analytics records the pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device you used. It is used to understand which pages are useful, not to identify you.
If you reach us through one of our adverts or a tagged link, we note which channel and campaign it was — for example “Google Ads, wedding catering” — alongside your enquiry or order, so we know which advertising is worth paying for. That note says where the visit came from, not who you are.
Cookies
We use as few as we can:
- A session cookie — keeps you signed in to your basket while you shop. It disappears when you close your browser.
- A basket token — lets your basket survive if you close the tab and come back. It contains a random string, not your details.
- Google Analytics, via Google Tag Manager — measures traffic.
- Advertising cookies from Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — tell us when someone who clicked one of our adverts goes on to send an enquiry or place an order, and let those services show our adverts again to people who have visited this site. They are set by Google and Meta, and work across other websites and apps.
You can block any of these with a standard browser setting or extension, and the site works normally without them. You can also choose which adverts you see in your Google ad settings and your Facebook ad preferences.
Who else sees your information
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. It reaches these parties only because the service needs them:
- Our payment provider, when you pay online — they receive your name, contact details and the order amount in order to take the payment.
- Our email provider, to send you an order confirmation or a reply to your enquiry.
- Our delivery staff, who are given the name, address and phone number needed to deliver your order.
- Our web host, on whose servers the site and its database run.
- Google, for analytics and advertising, and for the public reviews shown on this site — those are reviews people chose to publish on Google, which we display as they appear there.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), for advertising — to measure which of our adverts lead to enquiries and orders, through the cookies described above.
We will also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and contact messages are kept while we might still reasonably be talking to you about the event, and then removed. Order records — including invoices — are kept for as long as Indian tax law requires us to keep them, which is longer than we would otherwise choose.
A specific retention period for enquiries will be stated here before this policy is finalised.
Keeping it safe
The site is served over HTTPS. Access to the admin system is restricted to named staff accounts, each with only the permissions their job needs, and every change to an order is recorded against the person who made it. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not keep what we do not need — which is why no payment details are stored here at all.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Marketing emails are opt-in and every one carries an unsubscribe link; asking us to stop will not affect an order already in progress. We cannot delete records we are legally required to keep, such as issued tax invoices, and we will say so if that applies.
To ask for any of this, contact us using the details below and tell us what you would like. We will confirm your identity by phone before acting on a request, because your phone number is how accounts are identified here.
Children
This site is meant for adults arranging catering. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
